Inspiring the Next Generation of Manufacturers with Sign Manufacturing Day
Nova Polymers, Inc. will be among 26 sign manufacturers throughout the nation that will be participating in ISA’s Sign Manufacturing Day 2015 on Friday, October 2nd. We are excited to have the opportunity to inspire the next generation of manufacturers. We will show students the value of having a career in manufacturing, and how they really can make a difference in the world. The event will offer an opportunity for all students and industry professionals in attendance to watch a demonstration of the new robotic technology in our facility, as well as receive valuable insight into what a career in manufacturing looks like.
Due to our growth in the industry and associated demand on our Bryan, OH-based manufacturing team, we found ourselves in a position where we were experiencing capacity issues to meet industry demand, and at the same time saw the opportunity to improve workplace safety. To this end, we applied for a grant to implement new robotic technology to alleviate these concerns. Nova Polymers was awarded the grant by the state of Ohio in 2013. A formal presentation of the grant certificate will take place during the event. The following are just a few of the advantages we have experienced as a result of the implemented technology:
• 100% reduced injury potential
• 7% less material waste
• Labor reduction
• Improved production efficiency
We hope you will join us in celebrating Sign Manufacturing Day and take the opportunity to see a real manufacturing facility in operation.
